Dumpster Rental vs. Junk Removal

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Dumpster Rental vs Junk Hauling

When it comes to throwing out your trash, you always have a variety of options. In this post, we will talk about the key differences between renting a dumpster versus hiring junk removers to do the job for you. It's important to note that everyone has their own preferences, and there is no one right option for everybody.

Process:

The processes of renting a dumpster and getting junk removal are very different, on the one hand you are renting the dumpster to throw away your stuff in, and on the other hand you're essentially renting the people to throw your trash out for you.

When you rent a dumpster, you first order it for it to then come to your house and the rest of the work is either on you or your team. This means that you get more control over the whole process and you can hold onto it for longer. You also have the added benefit of not needing to be present during the dumpster drop off, so you don't have to schedule it around your free time.

With junk removal, the whole process is out of your hands, you just tell them what you want out and they do it for you. With junk hauling you need to be present and schedule the service around your free time, especially if they are doing in home removal. You're more likely to see these services just for cleaning out homes rather than for any kind of remodeling or construction related projects due to the increased costs.

Cost:

Dumpster rental services are very predictable based on price, if you know what size you want, then figuring out the price is very easy. The average dumpster price is within three to four hundred dollars, and you will know the exact price before you order. On the other hand, junk removal has variable costs, meaning that it depends on how much trash you have to remove.

Junk hauling services cost more on average compared to regular dumpster rentals because you pay more for using others to pick up and move your garbage. Hauling prices are usually measured by how much of a truckload is filled by garbage. The average minimum cost you will see with a junk hauling service is between $70-$100, and the average cost of a full truck load can go up to $400-$450. One truckload can be roughly compared to a 15 yard roll off container.

Conclusion:

The best option depends on your circumstances. If you're in need of a home cleaning can you cannot do yourself or at least choose not to, then it would be better to hire someone else to haul your junk for you. If you are working on a project and need a dumpster on site for a longer period of time then renting a dumpster would be a better choice for you.

Before you decide to sell your junk car online, find out whether the online companies will come to your place and pick it up.
