Dumpster or Bagster, What's the Difference?

Recently, Bagsters have become a popular method for throwing out your trash. It's essentially a large tote bag used for throwing away your garbage. Different companies such as Waste Management and Homedepot offer this service for people who don't need a large dumpster for a long time.

What is a Bagster?

As mentioned previously, a Bagster is a small bag made out of woven fabric able to hold up to 3,300 lbs of material. Once you rent one it gets dropped off at your house, you then fill it, and once you're finished you call for a pick up. Easy, simple and cheap. However, there are many limitations the Bagster has compared to the traditional dumpster rental.

One big downside to the Bagster is its limited capacity, and depending on your needs, this is either a blessing or a curse. As mentioned before, the Bagster can hold up to 3,300 lbs, not only due to its small size, but also due to the materials it's made out of. Who should get a Bagster?

A Bagster is good for people who need a small amount of waste thrown out that can't fit it in a regular trash bin. If you don't have a lot to throw out and want it removed at a cheaper cost, then the Bagster is for you.

Which is better, a traditional dumpster rental or a Bagster?

As mentioned before, one size does not fit all. If you only need to throw a small amount of trash away and don't want to pay a lot, then the Bagster is good for you.

However, if you have a decent amount of waste you want to throw away, the Bagster might not be the right fit for you.

Traditional dumpster rentals have the advantage of not only larger and more various sizes, but also the ability to carry more weight. Dumpsters are made out of metal and are more durable and heavy duty compared to the Bagster.

If you're remodeling the house or throwing out large materials, then the traditional dumpster rental is best for you. You're not as limited on weight or size as compared to the Bagster.
